- This book is co-written by two authors. The attributed individual convened a conference panel associated with the book (‘The Living World of Animals’), at the 2014 Celtic Classics Conference in Edinburgh; they also took part in the Human-Animal Interactions seminar series and conference in Durham in 2015. The majority of the book, chapters 1-3 (677 pages), was written 50% each, with the co-author contributing material for the Near Eastern and Egyptian sources and the attributed individual for the Greek and Roman. Editing of these sections was equally split. The writing of chapters 4-6 (76 pages) was also split 50/50%, but here the attributed individual undertook more of the editorial work, such as concerning presentation and structure, so amounting to 60% overall for this section. The attributed individual wrote the Introduction (7 pages); edited the whole of the book for grammar and consistency, including the bibliographies integrated into each chapter; and also compiled the indices.
