- This publication resulted from our collaboration with researchers at the Dept. of Security and Crime Science at UCL. In this publication, we combine the strength of both a conventional deep learning architecture and a sparsity model in a unified framework, for learning the feature representation in order to provide enhanced discriminative capability. At the time of publication, our proposed approach showed superior performance to many state-of-the-art approaches for the scene recognition task.
