- This 422 page monograph, based on 19 years of research, offers the first modern edition and the first translations of two 12th century Latin letter collections. The longer of these is a multi-manuscript edition, based on archive studies in Berlin, Paris, Cambridge and Oxford. The comprehensive indexes of sources and quotations are the result of extensive digital searches through corpus collections, as well as manual searches and excerpts from non-digitised source material. The stylistic analysis in the introduction (98pp), and the identification of further letters by the same author, build on a lengthy process of research into extant contemporary material.
