- This industry report is a product of the ERC-funded Adapt TV Histories project, on which Bennett was the Co-I with specific responsibility for the ‘social television’ workstream nested within the overall £1.1million grant. This overall project sought to understand how television production adapted to significant technological arrays throughout the development of the medium. Bennett conceived the social television project to enable the ADAPT project to link past histories of adaptation to a ‘live’ issue within television production. Strange acted as Research Fellow on the project, conducting interviews, desk research and analysis under Bennett’s direction. Bennett and Strange were co-writers of the report. Bennett took lead responsibility for shaping the report’s argument, themes and structure. Strange was responsible for capturing clearances and ensuring that the report reflected the data and had a clear tone and analysis that spoke directly to the concerns of industry. Bennett held overall responsibility for the publication plans for the report, which included a launch co-hosted by Pact – Producers’ Alliance of Cinema and Television – attended by over 60 industry delegates and featuring a presentation by Bennett.
