- Double-weighted statement
- Supported by a 24-month AHRC fellowship, the monograph delivers the first ever assessment of the evolution of the visual identity Carroll?s best-known character. In addition to close reading and re-assessment of Carroll?s biography and literary output, it required the painstaking assembly of a corpus of over 200 items from both public archives and private collections across the world. The resulting corpus was extremely varied: ranging from printed editions to hand painted tiles, music sheets, and advertisements. Only by careful assessment and contextualisation of each individual item could the broader trends and patterns outlined in the book be determined.??
