- The intellectual origins of this volume are in Pearson’s organisation and chairing of a specialist panel at the 2015 Society for Cinema and Media Studies conference. Leading on from this, Pearson worked with her two co-editors to identify and scope the book’s research objectives and themes: to provide comprehensive coverage by investigating industries, texts and audiences; to produce the first extended scholarly exploration of contemporary transatlantic television drama: and to contribute to transnational media studies. In addition to shaping the research focus, Pearson contributed a newly-researched chapter (109-131) and co-wrote the introduction (1-23).
