- Charlton was Spokesperson - i.e. the international PI - of the ATLAS Collaboration for four years 2013-17. As such, he was responsible for all of the scientific output of the collaboration as well as for the collection of data from the experiment. The data employed for this analysis were collected while he was Spokesperson. He was also involved in reviewing the analysis, and Birmingham group members under his guidance played important roles in ingredients needed by the analysis.
