- Double-weighted statement
- This major monograph (135,000 words) develops a completely new approach to linking two complex and important research fields in post-World War II German history, extending its inquiry over three decades and a broad spectrum of case studies, which “are completely new or have at least never been examined in such depth” (review German History). Drawing on extensive new archival material (research in ten major archives), it is a thorough and methodologically ambitious analysis of a large body of material (review Central European History: “pool of sources is deep and vast”), thereby engaging a variety of other disciplines.
