- The paper triggered a reflexion on optimization of geotechnical investigations, it led to new publications from colleagues who focused on diverse aspects of the problem. The work was carried out within a collaboration between Ecole Nationale Polytechnique (Algeria) and the University of Maribor (Slovenia). Time was also spent in the University of Innsbruck (Austria) as part of the research on number of mathematical aspects.
