- This jointly-authored volume brings together a large, international, and interdisciplinary team of authors, medieval specialists and modern scientists, to elucidate and analyse the scientific works of the remarkable medieval polymath Robert Grosseteste (c. 1170-1253). Presenting new and comprehensive Latin editions of his first two works, and a new edition of a Middle English re-imagining of the Latin works, and modern English translations, the volume makes accessible a very important medieval European thinker to multiple professional readerships. Extending over 450 pages, the multi-disciplinary commentary examines the historical and intellectual contexts of the works, and their scientific content.
