- This research was an international collaboration with Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (China). The paper was published in top journal in safety and reliability engineering. This was the first time that the proposed approach subset simulation had been applied to reliability prediction of buried pipelines. The study shown that subset simulation was a robust method to estimate the reliability of buried pipelines and it was more efficient than existing methods, especially in small failure probability prediction.
