- Double-weighted statement
- Drawn from a series of major research projects conducted over a ten year period, this book uses multiple creative and novel forms of primary data and data sets, which are methodologically complex to work with. Its form of presentation is unique - using facets and the overlapping layering of the theoretical argument, which again has only been realised after many years of methodological and substantive innovation. It sets out a major new argument which is influential for the shape and direction of the discipline. It was the subject of a review symposium in the journal Sociology.
