- Double-weighted statement
- This is a ‘monograph’ (xviii + 282 pp.) involving research that was sustained (2013-2016) and complex because of its interdisciplinary nature: involving archival ethnography; historical, epigraphic and numismatic investigation of the Nabateans; and research into Nabatean Aramaic. It also required interpretation of complex primary sources, especially P. Yadin 1-4 (in Nabatean Aramaic) necessitating scrutiny of the original and recent photos (which, inter alia, led to the identification of the two parties in fragmentary P. Yadin 4). It also involved the investigation of a given theme, the chain of events underlying P. Yadin 1-4, in great depth and from different perspectives.
