- Double-weighted statement
- This work examines topics spread across a wide area of private law: contract, property, delict, insolvency, debt enforcement and civil procedure. Relating these disparate elements to each other significantly increased the complexity of the work. In addition to providing an analysis of the relevant legal institutions, the work situates them historically and comparatively. Research for the book commenced in 2007, involving extensive examination of primary sources stretching from the 15th to the 21st century and of comparative literature in multiple languages.
