- This work came out of an international collaborative PhD project between SHU, Erlangen (Germany) and Murdoch (Australia). It led to a £154k Dstl consultancy contract on simulation of low-temperature glass transition polymers and a PhD project funded by Merck on simulation of polymer nanocomposite systems. On graduation, the student went on to gain a post-doc position at the prestigious U Michigan, USA.
