- This 285pp. monograph of seven chapters demonstrates sustained research effort through in-depth historical analysis of how early Hollywood cinema contributed to the cultural memory of the First World War. This long-form output was made possible by an extended period of British Academy-funded research, which involved the collection and analysis of a large body of archival sources (including difficult to access materials in United States library collections), over 200 feature films, and more than 300 secondary sources.
