- To evaluate and control cell structure (i.e. cell density and size) in polymeric foams, an advanced foaming setup was designed, developed and patented, (IROST), 82816 (2014). The novel setup along with an effective experimental design, demonstrated in this paper, contributed to a better understanding of the effect of processing parameters and material properties on foam micro-structure. This significant knowledge paves the way for successful production of foams with desirable properties in both academic and industrial level. The research was continued by others to investigate the effect of micro and nanoparticles on foam structure, resulting in further collaboration and high-quality publications.
