- This new approach and novel solutions give a significant performance boost and increases the lifetime of a resource-constrained distributed sensor network. The paper uses a novel application of network queuing theory to balance computation utilisation and communication resources across sensor nodes. This paper is a major output of the UDRC Phase 2 work programme DSTL/UDRC EP/K014277/1 (£4.3M), and a conference version of this paper (DOI:10.23919/EUSIPCO.2017.8081436) was used in the Case for Support for EP/S000631/1 (£4M) as evidence of strength in dynamic resource management.
