- This publication underpinned the award of an £889k grant from the Medical Research Council on wound healing (MR/R025266/1). This is a reflection mode sensor, located at the distal end of a 250 um diameter optical fibre, modified with a dye thymol blue that makes it sensitive to CO2. Due to the small size and biocompatibility, these sensors can be placed in any part of the body.
