- This work proposes a personalised social individual explanation approach for group recommendations. In contrast to the previous approaches that trivially explain the group recommendation as the process of justifying the selected aggregation technique, the novelty of this study lies in reflecting on group dynamics to explain why the system assumes the recommended item is best for a particular group. Being the first of its kind, this proposed perspective crucially enables the user’s social behaviour within a group to be examined and explained. The study also observed a significant improvement in the user’s satisfaction and likelihood of following the recommendations.
