- A sole authored monograph exploring the everyday lives of lesbians living in urban Russia after the collapse of the Soviet Union. Utilises ethnographic research (the author, an Italian, learnt Russian in order to do this research and conducted all interviews in Russian) to provide crucial insights into Soviet and post-Soviet generational, regional and social realities. Shows how non-heterosexual lives enhance understanding of how families and social structures evolved during the first two decades of post-Soviet transition. The monograph demonstrates sustained research effort in its nuanced investigation of post-Soviet lesbian lives, conducted in considerable depth over an extended period of time.
