- This paper outlines a cloud-based system for foot printing batch workloads and then scaling the computation resources of the cloud to complete the workload in timely fashion. The work was kickstarted by an Innnovate grant for the startup Dithen Ltd which the authors founded (https://gtr.ukri.org/projects?ref=131983). This work contributed to further Innovate awards of £0.3 million and £0.28 million for the startup Dithen Ltd which the authors founded under the project titles of DELVE-VIDEO (https://gtr.ukri.org/projects?ref=132739 , 2017) and QUEMAT (https://gtr.ukri.org/projects?ref=104408, 2018). The work also contributed to Doyle being one of thirteen national researcher being awarded an RSE Cloud Fellowship https://www.software.ac.uk/rse-cloud-awardees.
