- This work provides an advanced approach to predict vibration and buckling of Functionally Graded Sandwich Structures (FGSS) more accurately. The adaptation of the quasi-3D theory in this research area is a first-of-its-kind. A novel approach has been adopted into this research area to provide a more accurate solution in FGSS. Involving a team of international academics, the research validates an advanced solution aiding a practical situation for the aerospace, marine and building industries. The work also resulted in the successful achievements of a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP, #10100) and industrial research contract (#RCR00863) with TechnipFMC PLC, UK.
