- To assess whether hepsin impacts cartilage turnover via PAR2, the role for hepsin in activating PAR2 was investigated (JCL) using an in vivo PAR2 assay JCL previously developed (J Clin Invest 2013). Using mice from in-house PAR-/- knockout colonies, synovial perfusion (via laser Doppler imaging) was measured from the knee joints of parallel groups of wild-type and PAR-/- mice, before and after topical application of hepsin. The author made a substantial contribution to the design of the study, carrying out the study; analysis and interpretation of study data and helping draft the output.
