- The Illuminated Theatre (90,000 words) contains seven chapters and an introduction, each of which constitutes a complete case study commensurate in scope with a substantial journal article. Taken together, the chapters analyse in detail an international range of early twenty-first century theatrical and film performance (from UK, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, USA) through extensive spectatorship and readings of a broad array of theoretical texts from philosophy and visual studies (Bloch, Mondzain, Kierkegaard, Rose, Clark). Representing a decade of research, the book provides depth of study and diversity of perspectives on its topic.
