- Polio Across the Iron Curtain was researched between 2010-2015. It is a major research monograph, which explores a topic in which secondary literature was negligible. Therefore, the book is based entirely on original and extensive archival research, including national and municipal archives, institutional archives, special collections, film archives, the archives of several international organisations, and personal papers in four different countries, conducted in four languages. The archival material was supplemented by published reports, radio transcripts, newspapers and magazines, medical literature, popular books and oral history interviews. The research involved far exceeded the equivalent of two journal articles.
