- Author contribution statement
- Gaia DR2 paper from Data Processing and Analysis Consortium (DPAC) of ~450 scientists, describing first results from the mission science products released to the community on behalf of ESA. Co-authorship is governed by strict rules on contribution. Barstow has been a key member of DPAC since it began in 2006, leading the Leicester contribution to the project, modelling the instrument PSF and the effects of the inevitable cumulative radiation damage to the CCDs, which underpins the data precision necessary for the paper. Barstow contributed to drafting the complete paper and wrote the whole white dwarf study section.
