- The paper proposed a novel framework with a unique ability to indicate how the learnings from enterprise systems can be utilised for smart city development (SCD). It inspires more work in SCD, assisting city authorities in their SCD projects. For example, it is selected by a Colombian governmental institution (https://regioncentralrape.gov.co/), guiding their study on “Smart Grids” (http://hdl.handle.net/11349/24736). Also, I utilised the outcomes to develop short courses (e.g. https://www.bcu.ac.uk/courses/smart-city-development), consultancies, and designing tools/techniques for SCD (papers will be published soon). The paper was also cited in several research, considering information systems integration as a necessity for SCD (e.g. https://ieeexplore.ieee.org/stamp/stamp.jsp?arnumber=9060953).
