- Dye-sensitized NiO photocathode (DSC’s) assembled in a tandem dye-sensitized solar cell can increase the efficiency of solar energy conversion in photoelectrochemical devices. The research here brought together a multi-disciplinary group involving research groups from International Universities from the UK and across Europe with Industry (Solaronix, Switzerland) to resolve the inconsistencies in the literature concerning p-DSC performance characteristics. This paper lays the foundation for future photocatalytic systems based on sensitized NiO, so new dyes and catalysts can be tested with a standardized material.
