- Leben lesen. Zur Theorie der Biographie um 1800 is a longer-form output of c. 82,000 words researched over a period of six years. The first monograph to address the development of modern biography in the German-speaking world during the eighteenth century, it traces an intellectual debate that is crucial for the understanding of modern German literature and thought. Many of the texts discussed are addressed for the first time in a scholarly context and had to be consulted at German and Austrian specialist libraries and archives, including the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek, Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin, Gleimhaus Halberstadt, and Österreichische Nationalbibliothek.
