- This collaborative research project, funded by Sultan Qaboos University in Oman and United Arab Emirates University, developed an optimised magnetostrictive harvester that can energize electronic devices with power requirements of the order of micro Watts. The work has spurred further development at SQU and UAEU (Ghodsi et al., IEEE, 2019; Ghodsi, Sma. Struc. Sys, 2019) and influenced other research groups (Gao et al., Energy, 2020; Hu et al., Energy, 2019; Charabi, et al.,Renewables, 2020). This paper won first prize in the IEEE-Oman 2020 awards (http://ieeeoman.net/2020/12/19/ieee-oman-announces-winners-of-best-paper-award-during-the-2020-annual-gathering/).
