- Collaboration between the Universities of Hertfordshire and Leeds, Beihang University, China and from industry the China Electronics Technology Group Corporation and CRRC TANGSHAN Corporation, the first Chinese railway equipment manufacturing company. The industrial partners are currently incorporating the research findings, including the application of composite phase change materials in lithium-ion battery in a hybrid power train prototype in the rail industry. The paper also formed the basis of a successful grant application to the British Council’s Newton Fund – Researcher Links Workshop (2020-RLWK12-10349), also funded separately from the National Natural Science Foundation of China.
