- Additional information
- This interdisciplinary volume (archaeology, biology, history, history of art, linguistics and literature) of 349 pages contains 11 chapters, ranging across 1000 years. Tyler was one of three co-editors of the volume, which arises from a British Academy Conference which they organized. The three editors conceived the volume, commissioned the chapters, proposed it to the British Academy, ran three workshops, edited the chapters and co-wrote the introduction. The three editors oversaw the copyediting and indexing. Tyler had particular responsibility for oversight of the literary, linguistic and art historical chapters and co-wrote the chapter on the Anglo-Saxon Chronicles.
