- Arising from a multidisciplinary collaboration with Neurosurgeons at Manchester Children's Hospital, Leeds GI and Salford Trust. Our study compared the benefit of using a high-fidelity stereo 3D simulation with an ipad version for training and improving surgical procedure skill. The research led to two novel training tools being developed, including an iPad version which has been downloaded ≈10,000 times (2012-16). The work was widely publicised by the BBC (https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-wales-20948542).
