- The paper presented a method to recover some of the pristine graphene properties after extensive oxidation and produce a 3D architecture that showed excellent performance in energy storage. This is significant because previous works to reduce graphene oxide were never able to heal the defects that have been introduced during the oxidation process. Furthermore, the paper proposed a method that can help to prevent the aggregation of 2D-crystals upon engineering electrodes for energy storage/conversion, which was the basis of other articles by our group and others.
