- Additional information
- User keyword queries are often under-specified or over-specified. Query suggestion is used to help users express their information need more precisely. This work addresses shortcomings (redundancy w.r.t. topics) in existing methods for providing suggestions for user keyword queries. The article develops a mathematical model of evaluating the quality of suggestions by considering factors such as diversity and relevance. It has attracted attention of an e-commerce platform (JD.com, Inc.) for improving user experience. World Wide Web journal is a leading journal in the field of Web information systems.
