- Collaboration with AneuX (www.systemsx.ch/projects/medical-research-and-development-projects/aneux/index.html, £1.5M project 2015-18) which led to an ongoing collaboration with IT’IS (https://itis.swiss/who-we-are/our-mission/ - contact: Director at IT’IS) to develop the first integrative computational framework for simulating intracranial aneurysm (IA) evolution. It includes many innovative features: integrative pipeline from imaging to simulation of IA mechanobiology; novel collagen model; representation of endothelial morphology; simulation of secondary blebs. It provides an in-silico support tool for management of IAs. Significantly, integration into SIM4LIFE (https://zmt.swiss/sim4life/) broadens reach to academic/industrial end-users. Furthermore, it is well-received by clinical communities, Watton gave invited lectures at international neuroradiology conferences (http://ics2019.engineering.uiowa.edu/) and training workshops (https://www.esmint.eu/wp-content/uploads/ECMINT-3-2-final-programme.pdf).
