- This work details the challenges in microLED technology for display applications. The work led to acquisition of a local spin-out (https://futurescot.com/facebook-vr-firm-buys-strathclyde-university-spin/) due to rapidly emerging markets in displays and virtual/augmented reality systems. Subsequent to this, the acquiring company directly funded a research project (304107-01 Micro LED Oculus VR (Facebook Technologies LLC)). This work fed directly into VR headset product development projects.
