- The volume represents the proceedings of a major international conference organised by Petridou and Thumiger with the support of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. It was jointly conceived and edited by Petridou and Thumiger, who engaged in equal measure in the process of selecting, revising and organising peer review for the 20 papers included in it. Petridou and Thumiger co-authored the introduction to the volume. Petridou also has a major contribution in it (Chapter 18) and co-produced with Thumiger the index rerum and index locorum.
