- Additional information
- Funded by the EPSRC’s 5G grant, Seamless and Adaptive Wireless Access for Efficient Future Networks, the research presented in this paper can manage energy in applications where base stations are located in dense heterogeneous network scenarios. The produced outputs utilise the long-term channel state information to flexibly scale the mobile network configuration, which enables more than 50% saving in energy consumption in base stations compared with the state-of-the-art. The research has been exploited by the project’s industrial partner, VCE Mobile & Personal Comm Ltd to facilitate flexible hardware re-configuration in 5G networks.
