- Composite columns are now commonly used in high-rise building. This paper studied a new form of composite columns, namely concrete filled double-skin steel columns (CFDST). FE model of CFDST column was developed, and parametric studies were conducted. Based on the studies, new design equations were proposed. This work led to the development of a new design guide for concrete filled double-skin steel tubular structures (Design Guide for Concrete-filled Double Skin Steel Tubular Structures https://doi.org/10.1201/9780429440410)
