- This book is the culmination of the first in-depth study of British men in reserved occupations in WW2. It includes 54 new oral history interviews which were collected across Britain. It also necessitated intense archival research in archives of all four countries of the United Kingdom. As the Research Associate on the project I undertook the majority of this primary research. Moreover, these disparate sources required intense analysis to produce this lengthy and important tome. Although the book was written collectively, we each took specific responsibility for individual chapters and I was lead author on chapters 3,6, and 7.
