- First complete “water-to-wire” dynamic model of a Wave Energy Converter representing the interactions at all power interfaces throughout the conversion process. The predictive power of the developed model was used in a number of publications from ocean energy research groups, e.g. at Maynooth University, Ireland (DOI:10.1016/j.renene.2018.11.040, DOI:10.1016/j.oceaneng.2017.06.030, DOI:10.3390/en10070977, DOI:10.3390/en9070506), Uppsala University, Sweden (DOI:10.3389/fenrg.2020.00026, DOI:10.1016/j.energy.2020.118945) and Michigan Technological University, USA (DOI:10.1109/TSTE.2018.2856118). This work started a long-term collaboration of the University of Edinburgh with Wave Energy Scotland, Inverness, and University of Strathclyde (DOI:10.1016/j.oceaneng.2017.08.017, DOI:10.1115/OMAE2017-61294, DOI:10.1016/j.ijome.2017.08.001, DOI:10.1109/TSTE.2017.2696060), Cascadia Coast Research Ltd., Victoria, Canada (DOI:10.3390/jmse4030053), Newcastle University (DOI: 10.1049/cp.2016.0534).
