- Watt solicited chapter contributions from recognised leading figures in the field of studies of the drug war in Mexico. With his two co-editors, he developed the vision and intellectual framework of the volume, ensuring its coherence and original input to a growing area of study. He led the editing process and translated four of the volume’s chapters from Spanish to English. Watt liaised with individual authors (regarding final proofs, translation queries and clarifications), the publisher and copy editor in the run up to the final submission. Watt co-authored the introductory essay (1-29), a standalone article in its own right on the impact of Mexico’s drug war initiatives and US foreign policy on the public sphere, journalism and human rights.
