- A comprehensive CFD research on the performance assessment of a Core Mounted Target Type Thrust Reverser (CMTTTR) design in stowed configuration was presented in this paper. The complex flow physics associated with realistic aircraft geometries were studied and the computed results were compared against simple 1D methods, and further validated against the experimental work of NASA. Since a reverser performance necessitates the data from the aircraft with reverser in stowed configuration, this work provides an important benchmark dataset for the performance assessment of the CMTTTR. This in turn can impact on future reverser designs.
