- Double-weighted statement
- This book is the product of five years of full-time research, extended across the entire corpus of extant textual and artistic material produced in early medieval England across a 400-year period, including unedited liturgical manuscripts, unpublished and fragmentary stone sculpture, and complex literary and theological treatises written in Latin, Old English and Greek. Individual chapters contribute to a number of separate disciplines, including the history of religion, art history, literary criticism, and patristic studies. This extensive range of sources and scholarship, including substantial engagement with non-Anglophone material, underlies the request for double weighting.
