- Mobile live video streaming enabled by platforms such as Twitch, Periscope and Facebook Live compresses camera work, performance and audience engagement roles into a simultaneous activity conducted by an individual broadcaster. This paper presents a detailed video analysis of a complex professional production context, conducted as part of an in-the-wild research engagement with artist collective Blast Theory. It provides insights into how streamers in multiple contexts need dedicated camera interfaces, tools and training. CHI is the premier international conference on HCI (2015 acceptance rate 25%). The paper received an honourable mention (awarded to the top 5% of submissions).
