- This book, based on over twenty years of sustained research, is the first monograph in any language to focus on bilateral relations between Moscow and Havana over a prolonged period from the Russian Revolution to the twenty-first century. It involved locating and analysing previously unpublished sources in four different languages in over 12 libraries and archives in Cuba, Russia, the UK and US, including the Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores de Cuba (MINREX) archive in Havana, which remains closed to Cuban and international researchers. This unprecedented research has highlighted the complexity of Moscow-Havana relations.
