- Monitored 342 older adults and those with Parkinson’s disease (PD) across 5 EU countries with inertial sensor-based wearables. Approach (including remote free-living assessment further detailed in supplementary material) secured: (i) MOBILISE-D, €50million project linking digital biomarkers of gait/mobility to clinical endpoints (35 partners, 11 countries, Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries, http://www.mobilise-d.eu/ PI: Rochester lynn.rochester@ncl.ac.uk No:820820) and; (ii) Wearables for gait assessment in low-resource settings/countries (Royal Academy of Engineering, £26000, FoESF1819\T6\21, PI: alan.godfrey@northumbria.ac.uk). Findings enables use of digital biomarkers identifying group specific (e.g. PD) gait features as targets for intervention within NHS-based clinics (http://www.newcastlebrc.nihr.ac.uk/about-us/facilities/caru/, lynn.rochester@ncl.ac.uk) and international leadership within digital medicine (https://dimesociety.org/index.php/strategic-advisory-board-sab).
