- Double-weighted statement
- This book examines representations of Eastern European migrants in contemporary British literature and culture. It meets the criteria for double-weighting in that it is an extended piece of research that examines the cultural representation of migration in relation to the enlargement of the EU in the 21st century; the social and political changes after the fall of communism; and the Brexit vote. It draws together an extensive range of primary sources including mainstream and neglected authors, films and television programmes to analyse from a variety of perspectives the recurring representations of Eastern Europeans as a new reservoir of cheap labour.
